Adobe Photoshop / Photography
Mohawk College 2020
This movie poster was an exciting project from my second year as it was assigned from two joint classes, Photography and Photoshop. Each student had a choice in what movie poster to recreate, I chose 'Pirates of the Caribbean' because I had the perfect model to pose as the main character. In the photography stage, I focused on Rembrandt portrait lighting using one strobe light and a strip softbox with a grid. Then I touched up the chosen image in Camera Raw before I would start editing in Photoshop. More details and finishes were added including the clippings of existing elements. A lot of it was also made from scratch, such as the border, title scroll, and type using the pen tool and brush tool effects. The purpose of this project was to explore photoshop mediums while researching techniques to support the poster.
Voted in TOP 10 movie posters of Mohawk’s Graphic Design program in 2020.
