This cellar mural was a major project I completed in my final semester at Mohawk College. The concept is a raster-based mural built using Photoshop. I painted the characters with the brush tool and used clipping and effects for the rest. The ‘Cellar’ restaurant's mural represents the message, "good friends, good food, great memories!" The theme I proposed for the mural is 'Modern Renaissance' since I was inspired by edits of Renaissance paintings showing the models blowing bubblegum, using a cell phone, eating a hamburger, and so on. I loved the idea of creating my mural based on diversity. I drew modern people floating in clouds to represent Mohawk College students as a community. Reflecting on this project, I stepped out of my comfort zone by resembling the realism and expressions of Renaissance artwork.
